Expert Horse Training

Trainer Vicki Peters   manages the business of Quiet Victory Farm, LLC, and is directly responsible for organizing the care & personalized training programs for each of the horses, ponies, and riders under her tutelage. Vicki’s diverse background with horses encompasses over forty years’ experience with several disciplines, ranging from riding racehorses, dressage and event horses, to training and showing hunters, while working and riding for many of the area’s top professionals. Certified in 1998 in Advanced Hunt Seat by the American Riding Instructor’s Association, and as an active member of the USEF, USHJA, and the ASPCA Maclay, Vicki has become a familiar fixture on the rated horseshow circuit, having successfully qualified horses and riders for many prestigious events, including Zone 2 Hunter Finals, USEF Pony Finals, Junior Hunter Finals, and Marshall & Sterling Medal Finals, for the past twenty years. In 2001, 2002, and 2003, Vicki trained the leading Childrens’ Hunter Horse and Childrens’ Hunter Pony in Zone 2 (PA, NJ, & NY) consecutively, and was the trainer of the overall division champion Childrens’ Hunter Pony at the Zone 2 Finals in Harrisburg in 2005. Also, in 2003, Vicki proudly trained one of her client’s ponies to fifth place nationally at the USEF Pony Finals in Lexington, Virginia. Most recently she and her students have been champion and reserve at such highly competitive shows as HITS Saugerties as well as qualifying for Marshall & Sterling Finals, and Junior Hunter Finals. Two years in a row, two of Vicki’s original students (whom she started as mini-stirrup riders, developed out of her lesson program!) have gone on to win the prestigious Cacchione Cup, which is the highest level of intercollegiate hunt seat competition! And she will proudly tell you about one of those little girls whom she taught from a young age, all the way to college, and is now an accomplished Grand Prix rider! Known for her ability to get the most out of a horse’s movement, Vicki has improved the way of going of many of the horses she trains, which develops their toplines and in turn, enhances their abilities over fences, as well as their ride-ability in general. The riders Vicki teaches are carefully and progressively developed through a sound knowledge of flatwork and teaching methods, which are tailored to each individual’s learning style and personal goal, whether it be to pleasure ride safely, or to compete at the highest level.
